YEREVAN. – President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan on Thursday met with the heads of delegations that attended the 35th session of the Board of Directors of the Security Agencies and Intelligence Services of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) member countries.   

To note, the aforesaid session was held in Tsaghkadzor, Armenia.

Sargsyan underscored this session, which is held in Armenia for the fourth time. Considering the priority of ensuring security, he stressed the need to deepen respective cooperation within the CIS.        

In the President’s conviction, cooperation among countries greatly contributes also to closer interstate ties and the further strengthening of friendship among peoples. 

At President Sargsyan’s request, the guests presented the matters discussed and the decisions reached at the session. 

Board Chairman Alexander Bortnikov, who is Director of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation, considered the board’s activities to be productive.

He noted that cooperation along the lines of the board—and with respect to addressing modern-day challenges that threaten security—is developing in dynamic fashion.       

Bortnikov also highlighted the exchange of knowhow and the ongoing activities toward the synchronization of national laws among the countries.  

At the end of the talk, President Serzh Sargsyan wished the board success in its future activities.
