YEREVAN. – President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan on Friday received the participants in the regional conference of the education ministers of the European Union Eastern Partnership and the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation countries.
To note, the event was held on Thursday and Friday in Armenia’s capital city Yerevan.
The President welcomed the guests to Armenia and underscored the holding of such events. He stressed that Armenia aims to create an educational space that meets European standards, and this will enable to promote the forming of a knowledge-based society.
Sargsyan considered having an educated and a good society as an important matter because, as per the President, this is an important guarantee of, and a solid foundation for, the wellbeing of that society and the development of the given state.
On their part, the regional conference participants briefed Armenia’s President on the current situation in their countries in the domains of education and science, the implemented reforms, the respective challenges, and their visions toward addressing these challenges.
They added that the conference in Armenia was useful in terms of discussing the contemporary issues in science and education, forming collaborative approaches toward resolving these issues, and conducting an exchange of knowhow.
At the end of the talk, President Serzh Sargsyan wished success to the ministers and the departments they lead.
