No financial and economic preconditions for AMD devaluation are available in Armenia. On the contrary, the Armenian economy needs funds, which will soon cause the economic growth to cease, the former chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA) Bagrat Asatryan told NEWS.am.

According to him, curbing the devaluation of national currency in Armenia-like countries is a thankless task. “The stronger the exchange rate is curbed the more frequent exchange fluctuations will be,” Asatryan said. Commenting on the recent AND revaluation, he said: “The AMD devaluation is, one the one hand, is the result of society’s distrust in the economic policy and, on the other hand, capital flight, with the increased private transfer amount considered.”
