April 22, a two-day informal meeting of NATO Foreign Ministers starts in Tallinn, Estonia.

Discussions on NATO’s New Strategic Concept, alliance-led operation in Afghanistan, as well as relations between Russia and Alliance will be on the agenda, Novosti.err reports.

Today, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton arrived in Tallinn. The informal meeting is likely to be the momentous event in Estonia’s foreign policy of all times. “The importance of Tallinn meeting is signified by the fact that representatives of the alliance will hold talks on the future Strategic Concept. The drafting of the document stipulating fundamental principles and main trends of NATO activities will be initiated,” U.S. Permanent Representative on the Council of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization Ivo Daalder stated.

Delegations from 45 countries, except for Foreign Ministers of Great Britain, Canada, New Zealand, Iceland and Georgia will already arrived in the country. The absentees will be replaced by the representatives of officers.

Next day, April 23, another NATO session will be held, followed by a round table of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) members.
