The RA Statistical Service reported that the output of copper concentrate totaled 29,155 tons this January-March – an annual increase of 87.6%. The output of converter copper totaled 1,538 tons – an annual decrease of 13.5%.
The RA State Revenue Committee reported that copper ore exports totaled 27,508 tons this January-March – an annual increase of 52%. The customs value reached U.S. $37.17m – a 603.8% increase.
The reason for the increase is a sharp rise in international copper prices, which, in turn, accounted for an increase of more than 10% in the Armenian industry this January-March, and, as a result, 5.5% economic growth.
