Poland’s stance on the Karabakh conflict is neutral, Polish Ambassador to Armenia Zdislav Rachinsky told journalists on Monday.

Poland’s position is the conflict should be resolved peacefully on principles of people’s right to self-determination and territorial integrity of the states.  Details of the peace process should be discussed with the participation of two, or rather, three sides, the Ambassador said, explaining that the three sides are Armenia, Azerbaijan and “Armenian citizens residing in Nagorno-Karabakh”.

Commenting on recently adopted anti-Armenian resolution, which calls on the Armenian side to “abandon the positions that Nagorno-Karabakh includes all Armenian-occupied Azerbaijani lands”, Zdislav Rachinsky noted that the EU is not directly involved in the peace process. The involvement of other organizations and forces in the peace process is hardly the best option, he said. The Ambassador stressed that the EU can be involved by providing financial aid or peacekeeping assistance in the post-conflicting period.
