“After Sarsgyan’s statement (that he is not going to Turkey if the border gate is closed) certain chill in Armenian-Turkish relations emerged, further dispersed by warm weather in Antalya,” Turkish Sabah daily reports.

Referring to Yerevan travel agencies the daily reports double increase of tourists outflow to Antalya in 2009. Four flights a week are insufficient to meet the demand.

A youth group of ARF “Dashnaktsutyun” has requested to remove all street posters advertising Antalya and “to deal seriously” with the issue, Sabah reports referring to Eurasia.Net. Also they had hung posters throughout Yerevan declaring that “Armenians who spend their vacation in Antalya are arming the Turkish army.”

Nonetheless, Nelly Aroyan, Psychology Professor at Yerevan State University considers that despite that Antalya is a beautiful resort, Armenians like “Turks to cringe before them.”
