The CIS Council of Heads of Security and Special Services is holding its 28th sitting in Yekaterinburg, Russia, on June 2, 2010. The participants will discuss the forms of further cooperation in fighting against international terrorism, including nuclear and extreme manifestations in the post-Soviet area, a representative of the RF FSB (Federal Security Service) PR Department informed RIA Novosti.

The Council members will also listen to reports on the implementation of anti-terrorist cooperation programs in the CIS and the 2008-2010 joint crime control program. The Council members are working out measures to intensify cooperation in preventing smuggling, including the smuggling of military and dual-purpose goods. The Council members will participate in commemoration of the 65th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War. The CIS Heads of State declared the year 2010 a year of war veterans.
The Council is to hold its next sitting in Tajikistan this autumn.
