Armenia suspended the ratification of the Armenian-Turkish protocols, as Turkey is not ready to ratify the documents now, RA President Serzh Sargsyan stated at his meeting with representatives of the Armenian community in Rostov.
To justify the failure of the process, Turkey set new preconditions, the Armenian leader said. Moreover, that state tried to get involved in the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process, a thing it has nothing in common with, said President Sargsyan. “At present we have nothing to discuss with an untrustworthy partner, one regularly violating preliminary agreements,” said the Armenian leader.
“Time has shown that we have done our utmost for the last closed border in Europe to be opened, but Turkey is not ready for that,” Sargsyan said.
Speaking of the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process, the RA President said: “As regards the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, we clearly stated that we are not going to bargain with anyone over the Artsakh people’s right to self-determination,” stated the Armenian President.
