June 3, a Catholic bishop, Luigi Padovese, was killed in the Mediterranean port of Iskenderun (Turkey). According to Milliyet, he was killed in the park. No other details are available.
It is not the first murder of a catholic priest in Turkey. In 2006, catholic priest Andrea Santoro was murdered in the Santa Maria Church in the city of Trabzon.
