Recall of RA Ambassador to UK Vahe Gabrielyan has nothing to do with Resolution 2216 approved by the European Parliament, RA Presidential Spokesman Armen Arzumanyan told NEWS.am.

“The RA President deals with issues of appointing and recalling ambassadors considering the advisability and the terms,” he said. He also refuted the media reports that Ambassador Gabrielyan’s failure to prevent the approval of the document was reason for his recall.

Arzumanyan found it difficult to name Gabrielyan’s successor, saying a relevant statement will be issued. 

The EU resolution contains a number of anti-Armenian wordings.
