“You all heard what our Russian friends stated at the ‘Armenia-Russia cooperation and regional problems’ conference, saying we are in a region, where all the problems must find a rapid solution,” the Leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) Gagik Tsarukyan stated, commenting on Chairman of the RF Council of Federation Sergey Mironov’s statement that official Moscow will never recognize Nagorno-Karabakh.
“Regardless of who says or what, we must achieve international recognition of Nagorno-Karabakh. There is no bargaining over Karabakh. We will do our utmost and always protect Karabakh,” Tsarukyan stressed.
Russia does not recognize any sovereign entity named “Nagorno-Karabakh” and is not going to do it in the future. Russian parliamentarians’ visit there was an “unnecessary act of presumption,” Sergey Mironov, Chairman of the RF Council of Federation, stated at his meeting with Azerbaijani Parliament Speaker Ogtay Asadov in Moscow.
The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry declared five Russian MPs, as well as several representatives from France, Germany, Argentina, Iran and a number of other countries, personae non grata for monitoring the May 23 parliamentary elections.
