There is no military solution to such conflicts, particularly to the Karabakh conflict, RA Ambassador to Russia Oleg Yesayan stated in an interview with Echo of Moscow radio.

According to him, the arguments are the simplest ones. First, the Karabakh war had a concrete outcome. The problem remains in terms of a need for a settlement under international law.

“What will another war give regardless of its outcome? No matter absolutely who will now get ready for a third one,” he noted.

Referring to the negotiation process, the Ambassador pointed out a number of circumstances slowing down the process, particularly, Azerbaijan’s objection to Karabakh’s involvement in the peace process.

“Nagorno-Karabakh is an independent state. However, nobody took it from the Karabakh people and they did not lose their greatest desire to unite with their nation. But at the current stage, declaring the Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh was an imperative of our time – it was created by its people. Though some have an ironic view of this statement, I emphasize again it was a compromise settlement. This country could become a country not only for Armenians, but also for Azerbaijanis that lived there at the time,” the Ambassador concluded.
