Georgian authorities intend to open duty-free shops at Upper Lars checkpoint on Georgian-Russian border.
The issue had to be discussed at the July 3 governmental sitting but was put off till the next session, Georgian press reported.
Under draft regulation by the Georgian President retail trade will be permitted in the 500 m frontier zone.
As NEWS.am reported earlier, Upper Lars checkpoint was reopened on March 1, 2010 under the mediation of Swiss Embassy.
