The bodies of 7 Kurdish rebels killed in the clashes with Turkish armed forces in Semdinli district were destroyed, the witnesses say. According to them, one of the bodies was beheaded and the eyes of the bodies were gouged out, Firat news agency reports.

Kurds heading to the cemetery to bury the bodies clashed with Turkish police which used tear gas.

Peace and Democracy party MP Hamit Geylani, the Mayor of Yuksekova Ruken Etiskin, Hakkari vice-governor and human rights activists were among the members of the procession.

The funeral participants chanted "Revenge", "Free life or struggle" slogans.

The Kurdish population of Hakkari and Semdinli organized protest actions, closing all the shops and workshops. The clashes between Kurdish population and the armed forces broke out in Hakkari and Semdinli.
