The Central Bank of Azerbaijan instructed commercial banks, operating in the country, to suspend cooperation with Contact money transfer system, without specifying the reasons, Trend reported.

Contact system is making money transfers without opening an account in Russia, CIS, Baltic states and foreign countries. The organizer and clearing center is RUSSLAVBANK CJSC.

The Azerbaijani banks suspended operation on money transfers, as they were also involved in activities in the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh. Several months ago the operations of MIGOM, LEADER, Western Union and MoneyGram systems were suspended as well.

Azerbaijani bankers note the activities of the money transfer systems were blocked, as they violated Azerbaijan’s national interests.
