Kim Dae Jung, South Korean former president, 85, winner of the Nobel Peace Prize passed away today, August 18. Democracy activist, survived assassination attempts and death penalty, becoming a President of South Korea.

He was in hospital, diagnosed with pneumonia since July 13, 2009.

As of preliminary data, cardiac standstill caused the death of Korean leader.

Kim Dae Jung was S. Korean president in 1998-2003.
