The Russian delegation headed by President Dmitry Medvedev and accompanied by Armenian FM Edward Nalbandian and Director of Genocide museum Hayk Demoyan laid a wreath at the Memorial to Armenian Genocide victims, NEWS.am correspondent reported.

Today he also watered the fir he planted two years ago during his last visit to Armenia (photo).

The Russian delegation comprised Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Defense Minister Anatoliy Serdyukov, Transport Minister Igor Levitin, Russia’s Ambassador to Armenia Vyacheslav Kovalenko and other officials.

On August 19, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and his spouse Svetlana Medvedeva have arrived on a state visit to Armenia at the invitation of Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan.

The guests were met by Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan and his spouse Rita Sargsyan at the Zvartnots International Airport. In the evening a solemn dinner will be given in honor of the guest.

As NEWS.am reported earlier, the Kremlin administration noted that state visit is the highest form of international contacts in diplomatic protocol. As a rule, head of foreign state arrives on such a visit once during his presidency.
