YEREVAN. – Fairly high air temperatures were recorded all through Armenia in the past five days, and in some areas, the temperatures even exceeded their maximum that was ever recorded for those days. 

Deputy Director of the Hydrometeorology and Monitoring State Service Meteorological Center, Gagik Surenyan, told the aforementioned to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

In his words, Friday’s temperature had risen all the way to 35 degrees Celsius (˚C) in capital city Yerevan, and in some areas, this surpassed the maximum temperature ever recorded for September 11 day.

“As of [Saturday] September 12, however, the meteorological situation in the republic will start to gradually change,” added Surenyan. “Cold air masses will penetrate [into Armenia] from the northeast.”
