No terrorist act was committed in Beirut, Shahan Kandaharian, the editor-in-chief of “Azdak” Beirut based newspaper stated, stressing the information in the world media is untrue.

“There was a container full of oil in garbage, which exploded for unknown reasons.  It was neither a terrorist act nor a premeditated blast. This was simply an incident of no political nature,” Khandaharian said.

According to him, three passengers were slightly injured in an explosion.

Khnadaharian noted the incident occurred not far from the Armenian quarters in Beirut, but no Armenian was injured.

September 12, world media spread information on a major blast in one of the districts in Beirut. MIGnews, in particular, reported a terrorist act, which supposedly claimed 3 lives.
