A statement by the Iranian Vice President for Legal and Parliamentary Affairs at the Azerbaijani-Iranian conference “Republic of Azerbaijan: previous experience and prospects” that Iran has been and will go on supporting Azerbaijan in the Nagono-Karabakh conflict, was nothing but a diplomatic one, Galust Sahakyan, Chairman of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) faction, told NEWS.am.

Iran is in a difficult situation now, and many of official Tehran’s statements should be viewed in this context. This fact should not be underestimated, Sahakyan said. Obviously, Iran has no intention to reject good neighborly relations with Azerbaijan or Turkey. “For some reason we think that our good relations with a country means its not having good relations with Azerbaijan or Turkey. It is not so,” Sahakyan said.
