At its Sept. 24 sitting the Armenian Government approved an investment program of Yerevan city transport development, as well as a land alienation program. The programs deal with the road junctions Arshakunyats Avenue-Artashat highway, Shirak-Argavand, Davidashen bridge-Ashtarak highway. The compensations are to be paid from October 1, 2010.

The city transport development is estimated at U.S. $1bn. The Yerevan Municipality will provide additional funding. The programs are of national importance. Specifically, a total of U.S. $300m is to be allocated for a modern bypass highway round Yerevan.
