Polls for general election (into Low Chamber of Japanese Parliament) closed in Japan August 30 putting an end to over 50-year rule of Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) in the country. Prime Minister of Japan Taro Aso acknowledged defeat of his party, said he takes the responsibility on himself and will resign from the post of LDP Chairman. Democratic Party of Japan gloriously won the race and will get around 300 seats out of 480 total in the Parliament of Japan.

Democratic Party also has a right to form a new government. It is expected that leader of Democrats Yukio Hatoyama will become a new PM of Japan.
