The embassy of the Palestinian Authority in Baku can be opened in late October, Trend News reports referring to a diplomatic source in the Palestinian Authority.
“The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry informed the Palestinian side that the building for the embassy has been prepared. The consultations will be held in Baku to open the diplomatic corps soon,” a source said.
Political consultations between Azerbaijan and the leadership of the Palestinian Authority in Ramallah were intensified after Foreign Minister of the Palestinian Authority Riyad al-Maliki’s first visit to Baku in late October 2009.
During the visit, al-Maliki spoke of the intention of autonomy to open an embassy in Azerbaijan during the year.
