Armenia’s economy is worn out, which is the reason the budget should not be relied on. Rather, it requires political will and consciousness, Zoya Tadevosyan, a member of the RA Central Electoral Commission, told journalists, commenting on the 2011 draft budget.
“We see everyday reality, when budgetary funds are squandered. The Control Chamber prepares reports, which, however, are mere information on its activities. No one knows or speaks about what happens to the funds later, Tadevosyan said. According to her, the 2011 budget is a “terrorist budget” and its enforcement will destroy small and medium businesses.
“The Prime Minister’s promise that the monopolies will be made taxable remained an empty promise. The budget remains faulty due to its unprecedented sectoral orientation, and our dream of a middle class will never come true,” Tadevosyan said.
NEWS.am reminds readers that Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan called the 2011 budget a social one. In his turn, Vardan Bostanjyan, Vice-Chairman of the Standing Committee on Economy, RA Parliament, defined it as a “post-crisis” one.
