YEREVAN. – The Pakistani youth had crossed the Turkish-Armenian border because they wanted to find a job in Armenia.
Attorney Anna Juvanova, the legal defender of these youths during the investigation, told the aforementioned to Armenian News-NEWS.am.
Juvanova added that she was told this by these Pakistanis.
As reported earlier, the investigation into the case of the illegal crossing of the Armenian-Turkish border by these Pakistani citizens is over. The case has been sent to court.
According to the indictment, Pakistani citizen Muddasar Muhammad Unesi, together with his two compatriots, illegally crossed the Pakistan-Iran border, in June. In Iran, they joined a group of Afghanis, and together found their way into Turkey, on July 6 and 7. But the Afghans were detained by the Turkish law enforcement, whereas the Pakistanis crossed the border into Armenia, on July 9.
They are charged under Article 329 (2) (illegal border crossing) of the Armenian Criminal Code. These Pakistani citizens face 3 to 7 years in prison.
All three of them are detained.
As per the attorney, these border trespassers are between the ages of 20 and 24.
