Army Day is a special day for the Armenian people, chairman of the Union of Armenians of Ukraine, Vilen Shatvoryan, told AnalitikaUA.net.

“The Armenian army is the guarantor of homeland security, [and] one of the symbols of independence,” noted Shatvoryan. “The creation and development of the powerful Armed Forces of Armenia is one of the key achievements of the years of independence, and the future guarantee of the strengthening of the Armenian statehood. We are overwhelmed with great pride when speaking about the Armenian army. The heroism and courage of the [Armenian] soldiers and officers are written in golden letters in the history of Armenia.”

January 28 is celebrated in Armenia as Army Day, and 2017 marks the 25th anniversary of the Armenian Armed Forces.
