After his visit to Iraq Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu left for the United Arab Emirates where a scandal broke out.

Security officers of the Abu Dhabi airport made members of the Turkish delegation pass the suitcases through X-ray scanner, Hurriyet reported. The delegation was not allowed to leave the airport due to wireless devices and weapons found in the suitcases of Davutoglu’s bodyguards. The Turkish side claimed they had licenses and had informed relevant agencies of their luggage, but the Abu Dhabi policemen stood firm.

Employees of the Turkish foreign ministry even decided to leave for Saudi Arabia and started preparing an aircraft.

After two-hour talks UAE’s Foreign Minister Abdallah bin Zayid Al Nuhayyan called Davutoglu to apologize for the crisis.

Talking to the journalists, the Turkish FM condemned the incident, adding nobody should be treated this way.
