On November 11, the 19th session of Armenian-Russian Intergovernmental Commission started in Yerevan. The cooperation issues in the spheres of science and information technologies were at the focus of the meeting.

According to Russian Co-Chairman Nikolay Ryzhkov, an effective politico-economical and humanitarian cooperation has been established between the two states. “There are 1380 joint enterprises and Russia is major investor in Armenia’s economy,” he stressed.

According to him, today’s meeting will analyze the implementation of cooperation agreements in scientific-technical, energy spheres. Efficient moves should be taken for cooperation declarations to be based on real practical steps, he emphasized.

On November 11, the Russian delegation laid a wreath at the memorial of October 27 victims.

Today, a monument dedicated to Catholicos of All Armenians Vazgen I sponsored by Russia will open in Etchmiadzin.

Russian MPs met with Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan. Armenian leader awarded Konstantin Zatulin, Vice-Chairman of the Committee for CIS and ties with Russian Nationals, RF State Duma, Director of the CIS Institute, with a Medal of Honor for his contribution to expansion of Armenian-Russian cooperation and strengthening of bilateral friendly ties.

Within the framework of the visit, Russian MPs will visit historical architectural monuments, Noravank Monastery and Areni Cave.
