Local residents of Turkish province of Erzincan, which was earlier inhabited by Armenians, found destroyed Armenian graves while conducting agricultural work.

Agos, an Armenian newspaper of Istanbul, noted that one of the citizens noticed destroyed khachkars and human bones in the field and reported about it to the relevant authorities.

The head of the department of culture of Erzincan said that an investigation is underway. Local residents also added that there had been an Armenian cemetery and a church that had been destroyed.
