“Another important steps in the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process can be noticed on the way to the Armenian-Turkish rapprochement, writes the Turkey-based Yeni Şafak (”New Dawn") daily.

Referring to diplomatic sources, the newspaper reports that an OSCE monitoring group is to be sent to conduct engineering research of the Lachin corridor. The mission, which is to work under the decisions made by the OSCE Minsk Group in Moscow this August, is to study the width of the Lachin corridor and prepare a report on this and other issues.

The report will play a key role in the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh problem. Armenian troops will be drawn off from seven regions as far as the Lachin corridor, the newspaper writes.

The CIS Summit to be held in Kishinev, Moldova, on October 5-7, is supposed to become starting point in the settlement process. Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents, Serzh Sargsyan and Ilham Aliyev, are to hold a meeting to discuss the Nagorno-Karabakh problem. Also, Armenian and Turkish Foreign Ministers, Edward Nalbandyan and Ahmet Davutoglu, are to hold a meeting to discuss the problem at the United Nations this September. Moreover, the Turkish and Azerbaijani Presidents plan to meet in Nakhichevan, Azerbaijan, on October 2-3, to discuss the Nagorno-Karabakh problem.
