YEREVAN. – Armenian parliamentary elections were held in accordance with the Constitution and the Electoral Code, head of CIS observation mission Sergey Lebedev said at a press conference on Monday.

According to him, the use of administrative resources by the ruling party were within the norm.

Lidia Yermoshina, member of the observation mission and chairwoman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Belarus, noted that the results of the elections do not cause doubts. In spite of the fact that polling precincts registered several violations and technical malfunctions, “nevertheless I do not doubt over the fairness of the results of the parliamentary elections.”

At the same time she noted that the new legislation serves to the political force which wins the elections. She also added that conditions for voting of disabled people were not created at the precincts.

Russia’s Federation Council member Igor Chernyshenko shared the view of the head of mission that the elections were interesting.

The mission members also expressed the opinion that the elections were organized properly and in accordance with the legislation of the country. The observers said they had not received a single complaint during their mission.
