Armenian PM Karen Karapetyan said that he would do everything to promote Armenia in order to make it modern,  forward-moving and developed, Kareapetyan told  Izvestiye

Asked why he had joined politics and became a prime minister after long work in Gazprom, Karapetyan said he assesses his work experience in Gazprom very positively and considers this organization one of the most successful ones: “Since I am entrusted to be PM, I will do everything in my power to contribute to restoration of our country, making Armenia modern, moving-forward and developed country.”

Karapetyan noted that when the Armenian president signed the decree on his appointment as prime minister, he said about political reforms.

“I was responsible for changes in the country. I understand that a reform is, first of all, a change for the better, and the change is our everyday need. There will never be such an ideal control system that will not need changes. I seek to organize my work in such a way to be called reformer not only by the president,” PM said.

In response to the comment that locals would choose Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) in case if Karen Karapetyan remained in his post after 2018, Karapetyan noted that when people sincerely believe in you, it's a huge responsibility for these people.

“After RPA's victory our government will continue reforms that we have started.  Our government is open both for criticism, and for cooperation. We seek to restore confidence in the authorities, to find economic and social solutions that will guarantee stable development of the state since today and for the decades ahead and will strengthen positions of Armenia in the region. It is necessary to change a lot, but together we will be able to achieve goals step by step; purposes and strategies are specifically designated, and it is very important”, Karapetyan said.
