Armenian Control Chamber is presently carrying out large-scale inspections in the State Social Security Service, Ishkhan Zakaryan, the CC Chairman, told the journalists.
He refused to give precise information on disclosed violations. “I can not speak of precise facts until report on inspections will be confirmed by CC Council,” he said. Zakaryan stressed that 221 bn AMD is annually allocated to pensions and allowances. Meanwhile, according to CC information, there were several cases when people received allowances not being enlisted to them.
According to press reports, Control Chamber detected grave violations during checkups into the State Social Security Service. Rumors say the officials got pensions allegedly paid to those who had passed away long ago. Head of State Social Security Service Vazgen Khachikyan called this information figment of imagination. He also neither refuted nor confirmed reports on his possible resignation.
