YEREVAN. – The current deflation hinders economic growth in Armenia, and therefore the country needs moderate inflation.

Minister of Finance Vardan Aramyan stated about the aforesaid to reporters, after Thursday’s Cabinet session of the government.

In his words, deflation reduces the potential revenues of investors, and as a result, their desire to invest in business reduces as well.

“For that reason, we [Armenia] need to return to the target indicator: 4 +/- 1.5 percent,” added the minister.
