On November 18, the Armenian Government promptly put the issue of amendments to the RA Law on Taxes on its agenda.
The amendments are supposed to prevent big businessmen from “misappropriating” the benefits intended for small businesses. RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said that big businesses are divided into smaller, short-lived, companies enjoying the right to import products at zero rates.
To close the loophole the Government plans to create a mechanism of revealing related persons, and the companies importing products at zero rates will have to pay all the VAT taxes.
