At the end of his working visit to Mexico along the lines of the UN 2017 Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction, the Minister of Emergency Situations of Armenia, Davit Tonoyan, held several talks.

In particular, he met with the head of the Italian delegation, Fabrizio Curcio, who also is Chief of Protezione Civile, the department of the national body in Italy that deals with the prediction, prevention, and management of emergency events.

They discussed the avenues for expansion of cooperation in protection of the population.

On the last day of his working visit to Mexico, Tonoyan met also with representatives from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

The interlocutors conferred on the potential domains for intensifying cooperation.

And at the end of the aforesaid global platform, the Armenian delegation participated in the ministerial roundtable working session, during which Minister Tonoyan issued a statement.
