YEREVAN. – The President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, on Tuesday attended an event devoted to the National Program for Educational Excellence.
At the function, the history of this program was summed up, the launch of creating a network of schools with a new curriculum entitled Araratian Baccalaureate was announced, and the first schools to join this curriculum were announced, press office of the President informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.
Also, Sargsyan awarded certificates to the best Araratian Baccalaureate candidate schools that had taken part in the creation of the Araratian Baccalaureate school network and achieved high results on subject-based examinations.
“For years we have been saying that the best education, knowledge-based economy, and high tech can be the most important for the future of Armenia,” the President noted, in particular, in his remarks at the event. “Our education system has not collapsed; and this is the best response to all pessimists.”
