YEREVAN. - Starting from 2018, the Armenian Government will be fully responsible to the parliament.   

Chairman of the Standing Committee on State and Legal affairs and Human Rights, Hrayr Tovmasyan, who is also a deputy form the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), stated the aforementioned in the National Assembly on Tuesday.

Referring to the structural changes of the Government, he noted that the structure and powers of the ministries are constantly changing, there almost being no ministry since 1991, where both of these have not undergone changes. But the fact that the authorities adjunct to the Government will be put under the control of the prime minister or ministers is certain.

According to Tovmasyan, under the Constitutional amendments adopted in December 2015, political officers should be in charge of the work of the executive agencies. “According to the reform, starting from 2018, the new Government should bear comprehensive political responsibility before the parliament,” the chairman said.
