YEREVAN. – European investments will hardly come to Armenia as long as courts are not independent and corruption has not been addressed, head of EU delegation to Armenia Piotr Switalski said at the “Civil Society Perspectives on EU-Armenia Relations” conference in Yerevan on Wednesday.

According to him, Armenia and the EU are on the right track and, despite the fact that Armenia rejected the Association Agreement in 2013, preferring the Eurasian Union, the EU still supports Armenia.

Switalski noted that Armenia is the first from Eastern Partnership countries that began to cooperate with the EU with a constructive proposal.

Head of EU delegation to Armenia also added that they hope that Armenia-EU framework agreement will be signed in Brussels in November.

“I am sure that both sides are working hard to ensure this process,” first deputy minister of economic development and investments,  Garegin Melkonyan noted.
