YEREVAN. – During the NATO Parliamentary Assembly (PA) Spring Session, which was convened recently in Georgia’s capital city of Tbilisi, the Azerbaijani delegation raised the matter of Armenia’s acquiring the Iskander tactical-operational missile system from Russia.

Head of the National Assembly of Armenia delegation to the NATO PA, Koryun Nahapetyan, on Wednesday told the aforesaid to reporters in Parliament. He added that the Azerbaijani delegates were concerned over this matter.

In Nahapetyan’s words, the Armenian delegation, however, explained that Armenia just aims to restore the balance of power in South Caucasus and strengthen its defense capabilities, and added that it is Azerbaijan that purchases offensive weapons that are worth millions of dollars, and threatens regional security.
