YEREVAN. – French presidential election was open to the press and was widely covered, French Ambassador Jean-François Charpentier said at a press conference on Thursday.
Citizens of France made their choice, electing the supporter of reforms, adhering to the “France in the EU” approach. The process of forming a political field has not been completed yet. The president was elected and the government was formed, however, the parliamentary elections have not taken place yet, the Ambassador noted adding that the final picture will be clear on June 18.
According to him, France's foreign policy will unlikely undergo considerable changes as it is formed on the basis of political consensus.
“France-Armenia relations are old and deep, and the goal is to modernize relations and make them more mobile,” the diplomat added.
