YEREVAN. – The Azerbaijani side continues its attempts to misinform international community with respect to captives’ issues.
Armen Kaprielyan, head of the working group of Armenia’s Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons, stated the above-said.
He noted this commenting—at the request of Armenian News- NEWS.am—on the statement by Hijran Huseynova, Chairwoman of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs of Azerbaijan.
“Such statements should be made based on facts,” noted Kaprielyan. “This statement raises strong doubts, to put it mildly, regarding the source that provided information on 27 children in captivity.
“I believe the steps being taken regularly by the neighboring republic are hysterical attempts to delude people that are distant from the essence of the [Karabakh] conflict.
“Armenians, unlike the adversary, have never kept children in captivity.
“I suggest to Ms. Huseynova (…) to transmit the information on the existing ‘facts’—if such facts actually do exist—to the international competent bodies, for [conducting] a comprehensive study.”
