YEREVAN. - We are missing the opportunity of educating dignified children at schools, Yelk Bloc MP Mane Tandilyan told Armenian News – NEWS.am.

''Like human rights, the fundamental rights of children suppose serious approach and perception that the child is a man, who should enjoy special protection by the state. This also concerns the child's dignity, since we are used to treating children as our ''tailpiece,'' whereas we should realize that we must educate dignified citizens,” the MP said, noting that the steps taken by the state in that direction are not sufficient.

“The dignity of children starts in the street, at home, and especially at school. I consider the intervention of the state rather insufficient, since the culture through which our children are brought up at school leaves much more to be expected in terms of the teacher-child relations. There is a lot to do here,” she noted.
