Georgia has always been in first place, whereas Armenia—second, in terms of US assistance.

Ambassador of Armenia to the US, Grigor Hovhannissian, stated about the aforementioned at a briefing with the Armenian community in New York, and entitled “US-Armenia Bilateral Relations: Progress and Outlook,” reported Voice of America Armenian Service.

In his remarks, the ambassador presented the substance of Armenian-American relations.

And in terms of Armenia-Georgia-Azerbaijan relations, the diplomat presented the amount of respective US assistance in the past seven years. In his words, Georgia has always been in first place, whereas Armenia—second, in this regard.

He added that even though the amount of US assistance was gradually dropping in recent years, it increased in 2017. Accordingly, Armenia has received $30 million, Georgia—three times more, whereas Azerbaijan—almost $10 million less financial aid.

Hovhannissian noted that Georgia is far ahead also with respect to US military aid. In this case, however, Azerbaijan is second, whereas Armenia has received virtually no military aid from the US.
