YEREVAN. - Upon the instruction of the Armenian President and pursuant to the agreements reached between Armenia and Russia, humanitarian aid has been sent for the residents of Syria, who have been injured as a result of the conflict.
This has already been the second large consignment sent to Syria this week.
Earlier, around 18 tons of cargo—mainly clothes and food—was sent to Syria on Wednesday. The plane transporting the humanitarian aid landed in the military base located in Latakia city of Syria, following which the unloading and distribution process was immediately organized.
Thanks to the joint efforts of the Armenian Consulates and Russian Center for Reconciliation between Conflicting Parties, the humanitarian aid will in the coming days be equally distributed to the most vulnerable families in Latakia, Damascus, Aleppo and other cities.
This is already the second stage of humanitarian aid provided to the friendly Syrian people. The first plane left Yerevan for Latakia this February.
