On September 8, 2009 a suicide bomber activated an explosive-laden device in Kabul international airport, Afghanistan, BBC reports.

The blast killed two civilians and wounded three soldiers. The witnesses said the blast caused large plume of smoke in the centre of Kabul.

All the entries to the airport are blocked, departures and landings are suspended. According to some mass media, Taliban movement militants claim responsibility for the terrorist act.
