By 80 to 14, with two abstentions, the Armenian Parliament has adopted the 2011 draft budget.
RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan stated in Parliament that the draft was in conformity with the present economic situation in Armenia. He agreed with the opposition MPs that a number of problems need to be solved yet. “Progress is not far away, however,” the Premier said.
Premier Sargsyan stressed the Government will be consistent in equally distributing the tax burden, improving the business environment and reducing shadow economy. He agreed that the document is a highly risky one. The Premier assured the MPs the Government will do its best to reduce the risks. T. Sargsyan stressed the state budget is a socially-oriented one.
The Heritage and Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) faction voted against the document.
