Armenia is in political and economic crisis as its leadership cannot decide on domestic and foreign policy, Armenian Communist Party leader Ruben Tovmasyan told the journalists, September 10.

According to Tovmasyan, Communist party opposes Armenian-Turkish border opening, though considers possible the establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries.

“Armenian-Turkish Protocols as they go cannot be approved, as they contain numerous hidden threats, that might jeopardize Armenia’s national security,” Tovmasyan said, underlining that one could not reach Armenian-Turkish rapprochement without laying down preconditions, particularly on Armenian Genocide recognition. “Every time, while communicating, Armenian and Turk will remember the Genocide. This issue will be a stumbling block for both nations,” Communist Party leader added.

As to further plans of the Party, Tovmasyan said he intends to make an appeal to Armenian people for warning of the imminent danger. Communist Party also projects to address the Armenian President and RA National Assembly.
