This January-September, the Armenian banking system’s net (after-tax profit totaled 20.7 billion AMD (about U.S $57.5 million). Return on assets (ROA) was 2%, and return on equity (ROE) 9.5%. The Central Bank of Armenia (CBA) reports that 19 Armenian banks operated in the black, with two in the red. The commercial banks’ total revenue was 172.1 billion AMD (about U.S. 480 million) and expenditures 146 billion AMD (about U.S. $405 million).
Armenia’s commercial banks paid a total of 26.1 billion AMD (about U.S. $72.5 million) to the state budget.
